Trad. Biography
Deck the Halls is a British carol, probably Welsh in origin.
Amazing Grace was written by John Newton in the 1700's. Auld Lang Syne was written by Robert Burns. Jingle bells was written by James Pierpoint. Silent Night' was composed on Christmas Eve 1818. The words German: 'Stille Nacht' were by Joseph Mohr, the music by Franz Gruber. Greensleeves was written by Henery VIII. The Coventry Carol comes from the Pageant of the Shearmen and Taylors in the 15th centrury. The sole surviving copy is a facsimile of a 1591 manuscript published by Sharp in 1825.
