You can now request individual midi files for pieces on 8notes, which is particularly useful for doing 'music minus one' or karaoke style performances. Simply go to the midi page and click the link to request. For files where we've already added a 'karaoke' file, a new button appears above the music with this option - for example: http://www.8notes.com/scores/10572.asp?ftype=gif
Improvements to profile page, login and members pages

We've updated the look and feel of profile page and parts of the members pages, it should make things a bit easier to use. We've clarified the distinction between your profile page (visible to other visitors to the site) and your own personal home page (visible only to you) where you can organise your profile and use of the site (uploading files etc)
Groove Generator

We've added an exciting new feature to the site today - a groove generator, where you can create chord patterns, try the out with different beats and
save them to your profile. This feature also interacts with our Drum Riffs tool, as you can use your own custom beats in the groove. Go to http://www.8notes.com/grooves/ for more info.

Voting on forum posts

Members can now vote for or against particular posts on the forums, meaning inappropriate content can be flagged - when enough members flag a post it will become hidden. You can also hide a post temporarily yourself by clicking the [-] sign on the left of the post.
Voting for a post will encourage that thread to be highlighted on the forum home page.
Add videos to your profile!

You can now add videos to your profile - perfect if you want to show us a clip of yourself playing. To add a clip upload it to youtube, then on your 8notes profile scroll down to the 'add video' link. Fill in the details including the 'embed code' from the youtube video and the video will then appear on your profile and in the new members videos section here on 8notes.
