Hello! My school has a program that provides services to poor parts of the country, and I am in an ensemble that teaches little kids music. Now, we have two violins, two violas, two cellos and an e-bass (I know, strange set-up!) and some others that wish to play solo with us (flutes, clarinets, piano, etc). If you could find any free sheet music that could be appropriate, please do post it here! Thank you in advance!
Hi, I've already had a look at the more known sites, and I know that there's a lot of classical music. Which is very good! But I think that these kids we visit will not have the patience to listen to us play some obscure Haydn quartet for half an hour... so maybe something with a recognizable melody? Something we can teach the kids?
Four days; two schools. Sounds like there's the possibility of working with the kids (at whatever level) rather than just presenting a concert to them.
How soon is this all happening? (Sorry for "20 questions"!)
Yeah, it's mostly WITH, you're absolutely right. We'll have performances too, but we'll have a fun time teaching them about music in general, I guess. There'll be simple theory, rhythms and some composers.
Well, the trip is in the first half of december, but I'm not sure we'll meet too frequently before that. It doesn't matter, it's a very informal occasion (:
