Would anyone be kind enough to upload scans of the flute part for Francis Poulenc`s "Sonata for Flute and piano" ?

I really only need the first movement, but if you could get the whole thing, that would be just awesome.

If you can`t upload, just send it to me as an attachment, ochancoco191@aol.com

Thanks in advance!

I had a to pay a pretty penny for that piece so if you offer to pay a small amount towards the cost of it, then maybe someone will send it to you.

Nobody wants to pay for their music nowadays! If you`re using it for an exam you have to have the proper book anyway I think(The Poulenc slow movement is, or was, ABRSM grade 7 syllabus).

It`s not a huge amount of money to spend and if you`re dedicated to your flute playing you`ll find the money somewhere!!

Sorry for the little rant, but it annoys me.. especially when someone wants a whole sonata for nothing.

Reeni, you are not alone with your feeling on that. Sometimes I get so irritated with all these posts begging for free music. If it is something simple like a March that can be hard to find, I try to help out, but....

check on ebay. I`ve often seen the poulenc sonata and other flute works that are frequently played (mozart concerti, telemann suite in a minor, syrinx,...) for sale used on ebay. I just bought moyses de la senorite for around $8.
flute world has the poulenc for $15, if you want to buy it new.

Sheet music is copyrighted! I don`t understand why so many people come on this forum asking for free music! It`s not THAT expensive!

Ryan, I agree, BUY IT, then it won`t blow off your music stand in the middle of a concert, and you won`t be breaking the law either

It`s not expensive, buy it. Music printers don`t have huge amounts of money at their disposal, the less people who buy music the more music goes out of print.

Also, those who want to steal music don`t realize how many people are involved in producing music besides the composers, their are typesetters, editors, publishers, distrubutors, retail stores, etc, etc, etc, It is the same with recordings, many, many people make their living behind the scenes

What do you mean by `steal` music?

Presumably "steal" here means to make use of music that you haven`t paid for in any way.

Ah, okay, wasn`t sure about that, but thought maybe that is what he meant. Thanks.

yes, that`s what I meant, using copies, at least for performance is stealing, pure and simple.

I`ve had violinists absolutely go Dursley puce screaming at me for suggesting this, but WHY do we have to pay for 100 year old music? By all that`s right and holy with the world, copyrights should have LONG since expired. Why are we still paying large amounts of money for 40 pages of hundred year old transcriptions of music lots of people already know?

Does anyone think little Jimmy Haydn and Betty Beethoven are still collecting residuals on something their great great great great grandpappy wrote? And should they be?

Or put it another way... what would be so immoral with a group of musicians scanning their legally purchased sheet music and collecting the digital copies into a pool for common use?
In the non-musical world, folks call this a "library". It would allow people access to a wider range of music than they would otherwise have if they had to shell out $15 for every piece they ever wanted to play or perform once or twice.

I don`t mean to bankrupt the music stores and publishers, but surely there is a better way than buying sheet music and using it 10 times in your life?

And of course this begs the question: how is this different from buying the music and xeroxing it for the other members of your chamber group?

Elisa, make some good points. I often thought on the same lines myself.
