Just post what songs you're currently working on by yourself or in a band.

WIth my band, we're playing Crown Imperial, west side story selections, Victory at Sea, Radetzky march, Catch me if you can, and a bunch of other marches because we are playing at a fireworks display.

In band just a bunch of band music.

we're playing "Strike up the Band" by George Bizet, "Glorioso" which is a magestic fanfare that gives me goosebumps when we play because it sounds so cool and we with very little balance play it very well, "(Meet)the flintstones" gee i wander where that's from, and "More Cowbell" from a Saturday Night Live skit. "Strike up the Band" is kinda hard though cause it's in 2/2 time, but the rest are very easy and are in 4/4 time

Nothing right now until my next gig comes along. I am just playing random stuff when I have time.

Just happened along this forum and was wondering about "Strike Up The Band" by Georges Bizet. Would it be possible for you to use the add melody and post a theme or two? Of all the time I've been interested in Bizet's music, never have I heard of that piece.

Navigaton Inn and Danse Hellenica (a piece that was composed for us by Brian Wilson from Sonoma State) I'm playing flute and piccolo on both.

Studying:
- Haydn Adagio and Presto (also I prepared the piano accompaniment for both with Music notation SW to help with the learning and increase enjoyment)
- Haendel Sonata Hallenser I and I plan to play one of the parts at the school End of Year audition (probably the first adagio, with a recording of live Basso Continuo).
Plus a bunch of learning exercises from a Bántai-Kovács book

Pas Redouble by S. Sans, Tribute by Keaton (I think it's Keaton... Hum...), and Zions Walls (a version arranged just for our band) is what my high school Concert Band is performing in a week from Monday. Personally, I'm working on The Flight of the Bumblebee and Toccata and Fuge (my own arrangement) for a solo contest in a few weeks.

im working on the griffes poem and ibert piece for flute and the chaminade. just finished with a ridiculous amount of auditions and am putting mozart concerto in g, and poulenc aside for a while. the regional audition pieces were bach sonata in b minor and enesco cantabile and presto (im glad we do actual pieces instead of etudes) and those get to go away for a while too...thank the lord haha. in band we are playing windsprints, summer dances, an american elegy (one of my favorites) and some other stuff.

Solos: for state festival I'll be playing the Hindemith Sonata, but for fun I've been working on Taffanel's Andante Pastoral et Scherzettino, Enesco's Cantablie et Presto, Chaminade's Concertino (though I've had that for more than a year), Griffe's Poem, and the Mozart Concerti.

Yeah, I have no life.

<Added>

Man, I forgot to mention band music!

We're working on Strategic Air Command, Anthem for Winds and Percussion, and Court Festival. We never play music that's demanding, which is sad.

For Saint Patrick's my community band is doing all Irish music and bringing in a local Irish dance school to dance to some of the tunes:
Irish Tune from County Derry
Irish Washerwoman
Irish Folk Song Suite
Riverdance
Symphonic Suite from Far and Away
An Irish Air
Pennywhistle Jig

For April's Fools my other community band is trying to put on a silly "serious" concert:
Russian Easter Overture
A Grand Grand Overture for Three Vacuum Cleaners and one floor polisher
Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion
A Christmas Festival <gag>
Alpha and Omega
Concerto for Madison Avenue
I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing
Toccata Marziale

For the city music festival i'm playing concerto in C major and a really easy tone piece (since I need to spend more time on my concerto) called Nocturne V. I'm also doing a duet. It's the first movement from Sonato No.3. For band we're mostly doing boring stuff. One song is the James Bond theme which is kind of cool!

In wind ensemble, we're focusing on pieces for our pre-tour concert, and our tour.
For the ones for our pre-tour concert:
Ballad and Presto Dance
our commissioned work entitled Old Town Sketches
Valdres March
Chimes of Liberty
Washington Post March (?)

I think that's it...
