I made it into a city honor band but need some advice. I was asked to try picking up the piccolo for these songs. Igot a piccolo from my flute teacher and just tryed it out but i can only get out certian notes. Is there any websites or advice on this? If there different fingerings or ranges??? Thanks everyone......

Well, piccolo is an octave above flute, and there are indeed some specialized fingerings you can use, but you should NEED to use them. They're just there to make things slightly easier. Check out www.wfg.woodwind.org for a alternate fingering chart for picc. You might also take a look back at some old threads, as we've given advice on how to get started on piccolo pretty often in the past.
