What happened?
With two flutes and one piccolo you looked pretty decided...
Can we help in any way?

Don't give up. Playing an instrument is a way of expressing yourself. If you give up playing an instrument then you're throwing away apart of yourself. I know it can get tricky sometimes (I don't know if that is the problem) but if you practise and keep at it you'll get super good. Don't give up...

I thought about it for a long time and I decided to quit too. Playing like you'll never give up is no reason to be sure that you'll make it in this competitive world.
The flute is probably easy to quit. The drums are a different story.
We are both better off.

Playing any instrument is kind of a waste of time. Babies sit on the kitchen floor all day hitting their pots and pans with a couple of forks and mom thinks they are geniuses. We'll guess what? I don't think it takes very much brain power to be a baby thus proving that it takes no skill to beat a baby.

Well what my real long term goal by doing this is to get rid of my student instruments and allow me to continue in my high school carreer on trumpet, which i already made the state band so thats my priority to stay an all-stater. At the end of my high school years, using the money i gained from selling all my student instruments is to buy either a piccolo/flute, clarinet, or trumpet to take to college. So im not permanently giving up. Thanx

I suppose these are good enough reasons. I wish you good luck with your career. You will be welcome here if you want to keep posting or decide to come back to flute.

I have a baby at home that made all state on the drums, just hitting the pots and pans all willy nilly.
My dog once made the state band but it was on an easy instrument like the trumpet. Made my eyes burn when he hit those high notes. Kind of sad.

It's a good thing that jose_luis has ruled that you have good enough reasons. What would you have done if he hadn't blessed your decision?

There's no need 2b cruel either. u probably didn't have skill (or patience)enough to be a baby and that's yu quit. and u can't tell me u don't listen2 any kind of music. it all requires some type of instrument, and the people who work thier butts off 2make that music that u listen2 don't have2 make it. it's certainly not a waiste of ur time listening 2it, so y is it a waiste of thier time making it? (please answer reasonably.)

I have this image in my mind of jose_luis holding a scepter and saying "let it be written"!
Maybe I can't be a baby but you eat pots and pans for breakfast, with sauce.
Skill and patience? Is that why you use "yu' and "2it" and loser shortcuts only tolerated by the nimwitted rat-scallion wackwad salsa-shocked do nothing stupids.
