Hey everyone!
I've been starting to prepare for my senior recital to finally graduate. I think I've come up with a list for repertoire, but I wanted to get some other flutists' opinions before I go to my prof with a more or less final list. I know it's not the most technically challenging stuff, but I didn't want to overdo it because I know I'll be nervous. Plus, I don't want to bore the majority of the audience who will be largely of non-flutists and some non-musicians. So there goes Bach Sonatas, Hindemith Sonata, etc. First thing I would cut is probably the Madrigal.

Soooo.... too boring? too much from the same period? too easy? too long? (I think it has to be 50ish minutes) perfect? Whatcha think?? If you are unfamiliar with a piece, I've placed a youtube link to give you an idea.

In no particular order:

Poulenc Sonata, all three movements (14)

wonderful list Anne, I would add, that, after doing many many concerts, it is best to start with light shorter pieces, put your longer piece toward the middle and end with your encore type piece..

have fun with it

Thanks Patrick! Glad you like it
Think I'll go with the order of: Caplet, Reverie and Petite Valse, Mozart, Andante, and Poulenc Sonata, then I'll need a break after the crazy 3rd mvt....

Intermission

Kennan, Night Soliloquy, Debussy, Syrinx, WF Bach, duo #4, and end with the Doppler- Always a cute crowd pleaser without being too terribly difficult.
