Hi, I am considering buying a new flute, the YFL 371.
I know that it is an intermediate flute, but they say it has the same features as the more professional flutes (400 series). So is it a flute that will last?
I found a video on YouTube of a guy playing the YFL 371. It sounded good. Of course he had been playing for 12 years, and I have only been playing for 2, but it seems to be a good flute.

the 371 is basically the 361 but with a gold lip and a split e.
this flute will play EXACTLY the same as a 211.
but yes, yamaha flutes are very good.

But I think the 211 doesn't have a silver headjoint? Or does it?

personally, I like the silver headjoint. Unlike the deal with a gold plated headjoint/body/silver body it actually makes some difference in tone. But, if it is very much more money than the version without the silver, than it might not be worth it. Also, the gold plated lip will do NOTHING for you. In fact, over time it might even rub and peel off the lip plate, and then you'd want to get it replated.

I think there are two versions of the 371, one has a gold-plated headjoint, and the other has a normal headjoint. I was thinking of buying the one which is not gold-plated. There is a difference of a few hundreds dollars only for that, and it is definitely not worth it...
