I have a few other past favorite flutes as well but have decided to post just this one (for now) and start a thread on the flute(s) that we've had and miss dearly for one reason or another! Maybe this will be a good chance to start getting this forum back to the way it used to be.
I've played and sold hundreds of flutes from the 1800s-2000s and my past favorites have skipped generations but this Radcliff was DEFINITELY a wonderful flute! *sniffle*
I miss my first (semi) professional flute. It was a Yamaha 581 and had a lot or sentimental value to it. My husband purchased it as a gift to me the first year we were married. I wanted that flute for so long! It was such a gem after having to play on a Gemeinhardt 3SHB for many years. I wish now I would have not sold it. I wish that I also could have kept my Powell. I love my new flute though, so it really isn't a regret. I would have just liked to kept both. lol! Oh and there was alway the Sheridan headjoint I would have liked to have kept too.
That's interesting. I also played on a Gemenihardt 3SHOB and a Yamaha 561 - both open hole, B foot models of your previous flutes. I am just curious ... what are you playing now? We seem to have similar tastes.
I must say I do not miss my previous flute (a Gemeinhardt M2). Same thing with the EC cut HJ I had on my Yamaha 674, I have just changed to a Nagahara DA, which is like moving from a Sahara oasis to Paris
