In the oboe reed shortage topic someone mentioned that fox reeds were nice. I found a place where I can buy some, and I just wanted to ask for everyones opinion on them.
Thanks!

I don't know about Fox, but you can find reviews of some other reed companies at www.reedreviews.net

Fox brand is not the best, but very consistent. The tone quality is rather nice too.

If you need reeds try advantageusa.com They have many different brands and usually in stock.
There is such a shortage of oboe reeds on the market today that we all need to be flexible and willing to try brands which we might not have used before. There are many good reeds out there. Try Lesher, Emerald, Fox, Selmer, etc. Let's be grateful that there is anyone making reeds at all right now. It is a hard job and many people complain a lot about reeds. Try making them yourself and you will certainly appreciate those people who make them to sell.
