I plan to buy my own oboe, and I have set my eyes on a professional loree oboe, but I have a problem picking between models because I don`t understand the difference between AK bore and traditional bore, also, are there other loree professional models? I tried researching on the internet before deciding, but seems to be of no help... Anybody knows the difference?

I don`t know the difference between them, but personally trying each kind out would be a very good idea, and help you decide for yourself.

There`s some info on bores, to include the AK bore, at the bottom of the following web page.

You should definitely go to an oboe-selling shop and try out different models. I tried loads of oboes before deciding on a student Cabart (type of Loree) a number of years ago. Your oboe is similar to your reed in that you can`t tell by looking at it whether it is going to suit your method of playing.
