I'll start the list by saying West Side Story in general has awesome bassoon parts.

How could this list exist without saying Rite of Spring?
In our youth orchestra, we did an arrangement of Debussy's Children's Corner - the last movement was basically a huge fun Bassoon solo. That was a good time.

I think the Carmen Suite has a really cool bassoon part. Im pretty sure thats what my friend is playing for solo contest

Pines of Rome! The 1st bassoon part is insane, the 2nd not so much but still hard and awesome to play. It also uses a contrabassoon which makes it that much more awesome.

I've just been listening again to Stravinsky's neoclassical ballet, 'Pulcinella'. It has lovely bassoon parts. Not that I'd ever be able to play it...
