In about a week I'll be looking at a bassoon. Does anyone have any tips about what sort of things I should try to play on it. (Current plan is to play a chromatic scale to warm up, some slurring and staccato in both the high and low regester, then another chromatic scale to end with) My bassoon teacher has already looked at it and says it's in good condition and it was recomended to me by a university bassoon professer. I'll be asking my teacher what I should play also. Is there anything else I should do to see if this instrument is right for me?
It's a moennig. I don't know the model but I should find out it's serial number soon. Hopefully I can find out the model through that. There is a good chance I might be able to rent it for a week.
