Ok, so I just picked up Bassoon a few weeks ago and my friend has been helping me learn it. I've been using an old Puchner bassoon from my school. Today when I was trying to put it together, one of the Tenons (the small one that fits into the boot joint) broke in half. I am seriously hoping it can be fixed because right now I'm stuck using the crappy bassoon that hardly goes together and sounds terrible. My question is, can a broken tenon be fixed successfully?

I'm going to assume that you're all going to tell me I need to be more careful in the future, and I already know that. I really don't want you all to bash me or anything, I just want a straight answer.

Yes - a Puchner is well worth doing. However you will need to find a technician who is a specialist with bassoon tenons to do it & they can be hard to find. Also it is an expensive job. Don't waste your time trying to glue it as the joint will never be strong enough.
