i recomend a second hand trumpet. there cheap and good quality.

BAch TR300, thats pretty much what i started on before i got my strad...try it out...it really depends on what you like...but brands like Bach and Yamaha pretty much dominate the intermediate level trumpet range without jacking up the price.
