The Omega. I have one and it plays great. My friends agree that the omega lets you hit high notes, but hurts your presision. All kings are pretty generic trumpets. They have a great tone quality though. Bachs are my all time favorites but that`s just my opinion.

It depends on what you really enjoy playing. The King Silver Flare generally has a brighter sound, and is good for most up-beat jazz, but is not so good for most concert music. Acually, if you can spend a couple hundred extra, you should probably go with a Bach Stradivarius instead of the Omega. I myself almost bought the Silver Flare, but checked with some directors and brass instructors, and got the Strad, which turned out better than I thought. Most Bachs, though, are generally of a higher quality than most other companies.

Neither both are cheap horns with poor build quality. If you are spending that much for a pretend pro horn, do yourself a big favour and get a smith watkins or schilke s series! You will never know how great this advice will have been.

The Bach Omega is a good quality trumpet with a good sound quality and a good bore. It is one model below the Strad

Which horn do you like best? Take someone else and see what they think sounds better. Get what works best for you, not the horn that everyone else who has never heard you says you should have.

I do agree with Bobert.

But I also would suggest getting a Schilke. Everyone nowadays uses a Bach. Yes, the quality is consistent. But it`s like driving a Volvo, consistent but boring.

King Silver Flares all the way. I know someone who has a $2200 Shilke and says that the king sounds and plays way better. Plus, they last a really long time with no wear.

The omega is better, i have played both horns, the king was very bright didnt like it at all. It depends on what kinda player you are. The bell on the king was what really made the difference.
