Well...no not really unless you are a beginner. Actually, most store-bought reeds usually don't have the best tone (unless you are a beginner, then they are fine). But if you are a more advanced player I would suggest getting some nice hand-made reeds (or if you have a teacher that makes them have them teach you). Hand-made reeds are more expensive, but have a way better tone than any machine-made reeds I have come across. You can find a list of reed makers here: www.reedreviews.net
