I have caught my fingers many times but as far as accidents to the trombone I was marching once and I ripped the slide rite off my trombone and then smack the kick in front of me with it I had to send it to the shop to get welded back together.

How did you manage to do that? Holding it the wrong way?

You people are hilarious. How could a guy get his finger in the slide accidentally?

I have gotten my finger caught several times... Hurts like a bitch, but you have to keep on playing... But the worse, is when i get my hair caught in the trigger... I have sinced learned to keep my hair up in a pony tail, but when your trying to look hot/decent/prefessional, it really looks nice with the hair down, so i just keep it to one side. I have hurt a couple of saxophonists, they didnt find it amusing, but i gave them fair warning.

Why, may I ask, do you want pictures of people with their fingers caught in their slides? Just wondering...

Probably as a warning to youngsters. "Don`t play with tools!"

still don`t understand how you could get impailed or mess up your fingers, It`s a rounded instrument!

If you bring the slide into first with your fingers on the inner slide, it pinches it. Hard. It hurts. A lot. The majority of blood blisters I`ve had in my life are from just that.

Basically, it`s from not paying enough attention or putting it down the wrong way.

accidents...well, hmm, i warned the saxaphones in front of me (tenor/bari) that my slides might hit one of their kkeys...and the song we played required a real technical work for the trombone ((think of Channel one suite...for the trombone...-_-))

Apparantly, i got dents at the edge of teh slide, and broke several keys....and also hit couple of them in the arm....xD
