Hello there, I just saved an old violin that was headed for the dump. As a music lover, I can't bear to see any instrument thrown out. I know nothing about violins - On the back reads "Vuillaume a Paris" and the label inside reads:
Jean Baptiste Vuillaume a Paris
Rue Croix des Petits Champs
Made in Germany
there is a double circle enclosing a cross and the letters B V.
Can anyone tell me about this violin??
Also, does anyone know where I could get it restored? I live in the Niagara Falls Ontario area ,Canada.
Thanks!

Wow! I would take it to a professional maker/violin shop to get it restored and get its history, and its value. Sounds amazing!

Sounds like the famous "Villy Cross" stolen from the British Museum in 1976. The reward for it's safe return is $250,000 pounds. I'd notify the police immediately--or you could probably sell it on the black market for about ten million.

Pounds don't use dollar signs, of course--changed my mind in mid-sentence, and this thing won't let you edit.

I got an old Grater in an auction for £50 and it turned out to be worth a couple of thousand so you never know,
