Both of my teachers have taught the Suzuki method, so I was exposed to those books from the beginning. It depends on where you are on the learning curve. Do you have a teacher? I've found violin is an instrument that it really helps to have some guidance with. Especially once you get into things like shifting and more advanced techniques.

I still do not have my violink, but I am getting it soon, in about 2 weeks, and I still do not have a teacher, but I will get one in about a month, so I would like to arrive to the classes knowing how to play a scale or something, thats why I want to buy a method book.

Thanks

I used Essential Elements. It's pretty good.
