Hey Guys I'm SJ - and new to the site and looking for some help...
I moved out of England 5 years ago, and when I lived there I was a complete cello head, and bought my own from a local music store, but when I moved away, so did my passion for playing my cello. Now I'm looking to give it a better home, but have no clue what to ask for it - it's been so long I have no idea what it'll be worth anymore.
it's a solid wood Zeller cello (1/2 size) ex rental and it's original worth was around 600 GBPs ($1,188 american or 760 euros)
I appreciate anyone's help, and am just looking for a ball mark figure to sell it for
Again, thanks for your time
Greetings,
SJ xx

The condition is going to affect the value a great deal. If anything has happened that significantly affects the sound, you're basically shot. Often, even cosmetic things can matter, but that's not true of everyone. Of far more import would be anything that affects the sound, or the structural integrity.
Where you try to sell the instrument is also a factor. Have you tried doing some searches, seeing what comparable instruments are going for?

I'd say that your best bet is to see someone to appraise it, if you can't find similar listings. The hardest thing about pricing is that some cellos increase in value, and others decrease, depending on the quality.
