I am going to buy a new bass. I have searched for the best for their money and have narrowed it down to these: ESP Viper C-304, ESP F-204, Ibanez SRX 500, or Ibanez SRX 700. Please respond I am reallllllly stuck on this one!

If I were you, I would get a Fender standard P-bass. They sound great and go for only $349.99 on musiciansfriend.com. I play one and it is the best for that price.

You need to play a G&L L-2000 (American, or the Tribute) and find out that you can get Vintage P-bass, Jazz and MusicMan bass tones all from one axe. The L2000 is Leo Fender`s last masterpiece bass. Check this months Bass Player for review.
Current Fender American bass models are crap..
The L2000 cuts through and has an incredible array of usefull tones that you can get out of it, for rock, funk, jazz.

G&L is a nice bass but your on the right track with the SRX 700. Much nicer neck and action, much easier to get around on.

Hey what do you think of the SRX500? is the SRX700 better or does it all seem to sound the same?

Have you looked into an Ibanez EDA900 or 905(5-string)?

I played an EDA905 at a show once, and loved it. It was light, great action, thinner than usual 5 string necks (felt like a 4 1/2 if that makes sence).
They aren`t too expensive either, last time I looked you could get it for under a G-note in the states.

It Depends on what kind of rock you`re talking about. If it is a kind of riverside trio punk style like Green Day and Blink 182. I would probably recommend a Squier P Bass. You Don`t need to go for the Fender. It is just as good. If you Are looking for more of a hard edged rock then I would recommend Ibanez. I don`t own an Ibanez but I know that there good for that style.
