well, im 15, been playing for nearly two years, without lessons, and everyone considers me to be very good. i can play some of liszt and rachmaninov (un sospiro and liszt hungarian rhapsody no.2 to name two) and i`m not totally sure it matter`s how long you`ve been playing to be honest! the only thing id gives you is time to learn more pieces. and more pieces isn`t a sign of greatness in my opinion.... it`s how well you play them.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart- (prodigy)- began composing at age 5, learned to play harpsicord, violin, and organ, toured europe as a concert musician, and by age thirteen wrote many sonatas, symohonies, concertos and operettas.

I`ve heard that if you start an instrument at the age of 2 or 3 you become heaps smart at maths later on in life.

I was first drawn to the piano at the age of 3 and I have been playing ever since. Now I am almost 20 and my love and passion for the piano grows every day.

I started when I was six so I guess I`ve been playing about 17 years. I didn`t have a piano while at university so I missed out four years playing, but I love it after starting again! While I missed my piano, it did give me time to pick up a guitar and join a band, but I would have to say that piano gives me the most pleasure.
