I`ve played piano for 1/2 a year and finding it difficult any tips to make it enjoyable?

play fun songs. You need to practice more if it is difficult, but piano can be cool. just play easy songs that u like

A agree with Patty. I think that the most important thing to learn a instrument (and other things too) is doing that with pleasure. I just don´t agree exactly with one thing: if you really wanna learn one song, play it, even if it´s hard. That´s the best way to develop your skills. Anyway, playing what you like is the tip.

Hey Bob, keep up the good work. Piano can be difficult, esp at the beginning. Try listening to music (perhaps ragtime, or your fav. band) and finding sheets for those pieces/styles. Then find a song you really want to play (for show) and work oh-so-hard at it. I find it alot more enjoyable to play when I can show something off.

Yeah Its tough going but the most enjoyable way is to get better and better. You don`t need anybody to tell you that the only way to achieve this is to practice, practice, practice. I do 60-90 minutes a day if I can.

Forget the TV. Forget videos/DVD. Forget computer games. In years to come you won`t remember anything about that junk but your time will have been well spent becoming a better pianist. GO FOR IT.

I have this book and if you love classical music and stuff this book is good for you. Its pretty easy I already have the book whooped. I don`t know what you like but to me this is fun music but i`m a big band dork.. its called. ShowTime Piano Classics.. Arranged by Faber & Faber. Level 2A Elementary playing. Its great.. it has..Canon by Pachelbel.. Egyptian Ballet Dance (that ones funny) Liebestraum.. The Merry Widow Waltz... Minuet... Prince of Denmark`s March... Spring.. Theme from Don Giovanni... Them from Symphony # 1. Don`t worry some of these song titles you might have heard before.. like the canon.. you might know of as hard but in this book they arranged em diff. and they`re so easy hehee E-mail me! You can help yourself by playing classical musics like sonates or anything that is classical (Bach, Beethoven, Chopin ...etc.), it will help you to progress.

Bob, I agree with everyone that tel you to pick fun songs. It`s not going to be fun unless you like what you play, trust me! But I`ve also found (after going through a variety of teachers)that if you take lessons, a good teacher can make a BIG difference. My current teacher is the best!! I love her to pieces. She makes me watn to do the best I can. But no matterh what, piano rules!!! So just have fun with whatever you do.

Hi. I agree that you should to play fun songs, but as you get better your idea of "fun" will change and your goals with jump higher whether you know it or not.

hey bob keep playin the piano. i`ve been playin piano for almost 10 years and im 15 its a bitch at the beginning but if you keep at it and practice you will get good. it is one of the most difficult intstruments out there but also one of the most fun. dont give up it will get better
