This is my 6th year of lessons, but only really got serious during my 3rd year (after a 3 year break). I`ve been playing all of my life though - one of the benefits to growing up in a musical family with a piano in the house!

thats cool jen...i started when i was in middle school and didnt get serious till 9th grade...and now im a junior working too damn hard cuz i was a slacker in middle school..but im going at an okay pace...which leads me to a question...if i win a concerto competition and have an orchestral debut at 16..is that a little late or early for someone who wants to be a really good piano performance major?

about three years, almost 15
slacked off at first and didn`t do the lesson and theory books just sheet music but my piano teacher says I`m playing level six and haven`t gone through level three books and I`m making up lost time and learning quickly. I learned a lot from just practicing classical my first couple years but I wouldn`t say that`s right for everyone.

I`ll have been playing for 5 years this December. I`m currently in grade 9, and taking my exam in June. The last song I learned was The Gentle Waltz by the famous Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Peterson.

Newer: Just came out with a new piano learning app, and I think everyone would really like it.
