Hi,
I was in my local music shop buying a new mouthpiece for my Alto sax a while ago, as I was fairly new to sax we were talking about upgrades and he mentioned a different type of ligature (different to the normal metal/brass standard), but he suggested I stay with the standard ligature for a while as the new one would be difficult to play. Unfortunately I cannot remember what type it was (or for taht matter what it was!) Do any of you Pro`s have any suggestions as to what I should upgrade to next and what are the differences, he said it makes quite a difference.

Hey, I`ve been using a Francios Louis ligature for 3 months now and I do believe my search for a lig is over. It opens up your sound like popping a soda can, and it just did wonders for me (much better than my fabric Rovner Dark ...ew....).

I highly reccommend spending some money on this lig, you won`t regret it.
