I Love the Saxophone, but I have never played one. I taught myself to play songs on the clarinet, and I can read piano music. My question is will learning the clarinet make the saxophone any easier? Or should I just go ahead and learn the saxophone with out learning the clarinet first?
Thanks

Go straight for the sax if you don't particularly want to play clarinet.

Learning the clarinet first will help you learn the saxophone a lot quicker. This DOESN'T work the other way around, however. If you want to be able to play clarinet well in the future, learn the clarinet first. Not bashing my premier instrument, but compared to most other instruments, the saxophone is probably the easiest to learn, coming from any background.

Advice: go for sax and clarinet is extremely hard!
