Well... I'm new to the forum, and I just started voice lessons the other day. I've always been told that I could sing, so I decided to take lessons to make my talent even better.
My chest voice alone was 3.5 octaves. Is that good? I couldn't quite grasp the idea of head voice, but my teacher said that if I can successfully utilize my chest and head voice, that I could have quite an impressive range...
I just wanna know what the normal ranges are, I guess, and to compare with other people.

And it appears that this forum lacks activity...

No worries, I can wait for some kind of reply ;)

3.5 octaves chest voice, so you are a female right?

Sorry for a poor answer, but that's the first thing I wanted to be sure.

Hah. No.
I am 16 year old male.
It's easiest for me to sing in the bass range, but I can get pretty high in chest voice.

Maybe I still don't understand quite clearly, what head and chest voices mean, but sorry 3.5 octaves clear non-falsetto voice for a 16 year-old male is a bit impossible, maybe you mean 2.5 octaves, which is somewhere near for making some sense.
