Basically I had a assignment for my Music 2 class at school to hand in a String Quartet composition expressing features of the classical period (you could go off an a little bit of a tangent here, say introduce some romantic features but try not to delve into contemporary stuff).
The stucture we had to create it in was Theme and Variations and I had a term to do it. Naturally, I wrote the theme straight away, left it for 9 weeks, then did it on the last 3-4 days of the last week and bam.
Basically I'm just asking if any of you guys here who study music could analyse somewhat or just listen to what I've done. Would like some criticism or the like.
To those that don't study music, this is gonna sound really, corny, no wait it would to anyone LOL. But I just made this from scratch to hand in, I'd refine it if I truly wanted to do something with it.
Anyway

Oh the variations if you cant pick it out -The key is in C. first variation is just a simple mess around with texture and rhthym. Second variation is a modulation to relative minor (A), third and last variation is .. a variation of the theme, the second half of the third variation I went on a tangent and introduced some new chords, but mostly the same ending, kinda not happy with it though. Still my teacher said she's tempted to play this for the chamber ensemble, just a try anyway lol. Alot of things I could so easily refine, had I the time or was it more than just a simple marked assignment.
