The melody streaming out of his guitar strings captures every soul as it heralds the tune of the song next in line.
Amiable and soft spoken, he talks of his glittering guitars with a passion, “they speak for me”.

Meet Oti Brown – the maestro of Afro Funk music.

Born in Warri, Delta state in 1973, Oti Brown was tutelage under his older brother. He soon became the youngest bass guitar player in his sprawling city, which earned him the nickname “Smalling”.

He was soon to pick up the tenor guitar for which he had more flair. His talent blossomed, earning him an invitation to join the music group JB in Lagos in 1992. After a stint as the band`s lead guitarist, Oti Brown teamed up with a friend to form his own band which became the toast of Lagos evening entertainment.

His arrival in Switzerland in 2003 gave him the opportunity to incorporate his music with the varieties that stared him in his face. Combining with Mr Felix Sugaba, they moved to fill the vacuum that existed in the entertainment circle by jointly forming the first Nigerian live music band in Switzerland (Victory Band).

With 2 albums to his credit, Oti Brown is poised to release another album. Due for release in December to mark the coming yuletide, the album titled Dancing Time is a fusion of Funk, Afro jazz and Afro beat, Calypso & more. This well blended master piece showcases the genius in this affable musician who talks of Sir.Victor Uwaifor, Fela Kuti, Motown Artist etc as having influenced his music

Beside him is his wife whom he proudly says has been a tremendous inspiration to him.
