Hi,

I am new here. I was listening to Bob Dylan play Lonesome Whistle Blues on a radio program recorded back in 1962.

It was fantastic. But I figured out he had tuned his guitar down 1/2 step. He was also playing harmonica/harp. I have no idea how.

Is it possible to play harp when you tune down the guitar 1/2 step?

The song begins in C. Normal tuning uses a C harp. If you tune down 1 full step (like I tend to do because of my terrible voice) you use a Bb harp.

But 1/2 step down? I can't figure it out. I don't see how you can play harp if the guitar is tuned 1/2 step down.

Any ideas? Thanks.
