I just want to say also that 8notes Rocks. I've been on some cool music sites, but 8notes takes some beating!

I don't like playing Michael Jackson Music! I was asked to play a piano only version of man in the mirror once, which I did. It sounds pretty good until you get to the 7#9 chord notes (lyrics being "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself..." and no matter what I tried to do on this to me it sounded rediculous--not meant for a piano solo!

Well anything is possible, even solo Michael Jackson music, there's this kid on Youtube can play anything on the guitar, check him out: Here!



All it takes is practice practice practice!

In this case I don't think practice would help. It's not that the music is hard, it's not...most of his music is at early intermediate level, the problem is it doesn't sound right. I remember watching a michael jackson special back in 2001 (the one the release was delayed on due to 9/11) A bunch of big name singers were there singing michael jackson songs, and even though they were good singers and the notes were in their range---it just didn't sound right...

Oh! I did watch that kid playing guitar. He is really good!

You know, I get this feeling like I just shouldn't try to touch M.J.'s music. I played "Beat It" on my guitar and even though it wasn't hard, it just didn't feel right. I'd rather just listen and appreciate and get inspired. That's enough for me.

MJ has a hard sound and feel to replicate.
