You should never ask a lady how old she is. So your answer is going to be...
too old to rock and roll,
too young to die

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Grandma Bob.

Well theres nothing wrong with the Beatles but their not the best. And I think its discusting when you say that punk rock is better than well- anything! modern punk sucks.

If the Beatles are not the best, then who is? No one comes close either commercially or critically.

I agree that the beatles are the best, they had the biggest impact, but I guess we can`t include them. I guess it depends on how you people are judging this, is it by impact or just how good the band really is. If by impact other than the beatles probably the rolling stones, on just good bands I could think of tons, rush, queen, The who, and the list goes on and on for a while, some of the people on this list could also be on the biggest impact list. So I guess it depends on the criteria.

The Beatles are the best on both Impact and quality of music, for example you mention Queen. As good as they are, if you compare albums by each band, the Beatles come out on top. Revolver or Night at the Opera? I know which I`d choose. The band that comes closest to The Beatles I`d say is Led Zeppelin, and Perhaps The Rolling Stones, but The Stones have only done 4 really classic albums (Exile On Main St, Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed and Sticky Fingers). Whereas the Beatles have at least 5, and the fact that a lot of The Beatles` music wern`t even on any albums (apart from the Past Masters compilations) show`s how good they are. Any band that does not consider songs like Day Tripper, Lady Madonna, Strawberry Fields Forever, Hey Jude and many others, worthy of their studio albums must be something special.

The only thing that you guys are wrong on right now is the fact that your rating a band on how it impacted others. Its personal opinion, i dont think the beatles are best because they do not have the best music for me. I love them... but I wouldnt call them the best. My best isnt the best music for me, maybe theyre the most popular but come on! I debateable, so I wont bring em into it.

Okay, so who is this guy using my name man. Well let`s stop the arguing right now. Everyone has there own opinions about what the kind of music and stuff is, so let`s make this all personal best. Who makes music that you like that has the best talent. Then it will be strictly personal opinion.

If your going on personal oppinion, I`d say the Smiths, The Beatles are the best, The Smiths are my favoutite. Lyricially, Morrissey is as good as Dylan. Perhaps even better.

Look, how do you measure the greatness of a group? How can anyone not include the Beatles? Are you people all suffering from brain cramps. They started in 63 singing simple rock songs but then so was everybody else only they were better. They evolved with every album always trying different things. They were creative and not afraid to experiment with different sounds. That`s the key-they were creative and they evolved. Sorry all you Led Zepp fans. Their sound was the same from the beginning to the end and Plant sounded like a girl. Sure they had a great drummer and guitartist but that doesn`t amount to a hill of beans. Being technically proficient doesn`t make a great sound. If any group comes close to the Beatles it`s Pink Floyd because they were creative and just a head banging music. I mean we are talking about artists here aren`t we?

I meant to say Pink Floyd was not just a head banging music. Also, back on the Beatles. Groups have been ripping off musical styles started by them.

Well guys, I`d have to say Led Zep and the Beatles are high up there, but I`m devestated that you guys haven`t even mentioned AC/DC yet. Dude! Well maybe i`m just a biased Aussie, but really, think about it;
Back in Black
Long Way to the Top
Highway to Hell
Dirty Deeds
You Shook Me All Night Long
Thunderstruck

ACDC has got to be up there with the best guys.
Mwa mwa mwa
