Hi! I was wondering who everyone's favorite band was, and why.
For me it's got to be Rush. They have loads of memorizing material, from over 30 years in the studio. Also, all of their members are amazing at what they do.
Geddy Lee= possibly the best rock bassist alive, with some killer bass lines.
Neil Peart= arguably the greatest rock drummer ever.
Alex Lifeson= an amazing and underrated guitarist, an amazing rythym guitarist with some killer solos.
Now it's your turn. Let's get a big list of amazing bands in this forum!

I still love Nirvana cause I listen to them every day-they just had that rock star edge that still blows me away.
Their music will still be relevant like for ever.
And also Seether are one of the most powerful bands today, well for me that is
Shaun Morgan has the ability to scream, sing, make you feel happy with him or sad, he's really one of the best I think

Secondly Guns n Roses:
Axl Rose: Vry Gd Vocalist
Slash: Argueably the best guitarist ever.
Duff Mckaggan: A talented bassist. Again underrated.
Izzy Stradler: A legend among rhythm guitarists.

Iron Maiden
Bruce Dickinson's voice blows doors down, it's like metal with the power of opera.
and their riffs and lyrics are simply awesome, I cant listen to maiden without just getting caught up in the music and doing a little air guitar, lol.
ACES HIGH FOREVER!!

Well Nirvana is my all time favorite band, they turned me onto a whole new type of music and inspired me to make a band and play guitar.
But my current favorite is Blind Melon. Shannon hoon is easily one of the greatest male vocalists ever, and their style of music is like a blend of hippie, southern rock, with a little bit of grunge in some songs atleast. Just a really talented band and individual, unfortunately drugs got the best of him...RIP

Black Sabbath is #1 favorite(the original line up):
Ozzy osbourne-great voice imo
Tony Iommi-IIRC, he is/was one of the first shredders and one of the first to use distortion mainly.
Geezer Butler-I think I read in a book that he was the first to use bends and such on the bass(i'm not gonna go through all bands b4 this to check lol)
Bill Ward-Good drummer(can't think of anything, i mostly listen to the guitar and lyrics in the songs)
Next on my list is a 3 way tie between Def Leppard, GNR, and AC/DC
third place goes to quiet riot, twisted sister, ratt, whitesnake, and cinderella.
while i understand there were many very great bands that outweighed all of these bands in talent and popularity(Led Zeppelin, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen to name a few), they do not enter my top 3 favorite category mainly because I know too little and have heard not much of their work to call them that, maybe in time.

For the past year or two it's been Metallic and most likely will stay that way. Pink Floyd is close behind, but I am still looking for a band that can top the catalogue Metallica provided from 1983 to 1991, along with the various -- and countless -- great songs in the years that followed their ruthless reign over rock/metal.
