Okay, if you are looking for some good old rock music, the following bands are a must:
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
The Doors
The Who
Jethro Tull
Jimi Hendrix
Lynard Skynard
Motley Crue
Queen
Styx
REO Speedwagon
Rush
The Beatles
Van Halen
And that is definitely not all, but for the moment, I can`t think of any more. I must tell you. Music is my life, and I can help you with any music needs you have.

Pink Floyd is my latest personal obsession.
I recently acquired a lovely MP3 CD collection with 11 albums dated (I think) 1974-1994.
Shine on you Crazy Diamond, Comfortably Numb, Wish you Were Here...
Beautiful.

I`m not really a pro when it comes to "old" rock, but yes, from what I have heard myself, Pink Floyd and Queen (unfortunately I have to admit that I got bored quickly) and The Beatles seem to be the best...

Nirvana old rock?!? Iam only 24 and u make me seem seriously old! loads of early to mid ninties music is worth checking out. More of an emphasis on songwriting than some of the earlier periods. less 10 minute guitar solos anyway!

If you`re into the music of the nineties, may I suggest a little known, but awesome band that was a sort of "cousin" to the Gin Blossoms?
Try The Refreshments; Fizzy, Fuzzy, Big & Buzzy, and The Bottle and Fresh Horses.
If you`re skeptical, try these songs first
Banditos
Down Together
Nada
Wanted
I Don`t Want to Know &
River Otis (the last two were written in tribute to Doug Hopkins of Gin Blossoms)
Here`s a site that you can download most (maybe all) of this stuff from. It`s all B-sides or live recordings or demos, but the site is run with the consent of the artists:

you gotta look at Bruce Springsteen, the savior of rock and roll. 2 of his great albums are Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town. He is the real deal of rock and roll.

If you like Born to Run, check out a song called Beautiful Disaster, by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. Beautiful Disaster is so heavily influenced by the Boss, that all the RCPM fans (for a band you`ve never heard of, there are a LOT of us) joke that it`s the same song with different words.
Well, it`s not quite that bad, but it is a good song.
