Trio for 3 basses. This is Part 1; Full score also available for download. Originally written as Quintette avec clarinette, K.581 Allegro, in A Maj., by W.A. Mozart. The upper part is difficult with 16th notes (quarter note = 100) and much is played in upper positions. The middle part is significantly easier, but does require some playing in upper position. The lowest part is quite easy but would challenge a early intermediate player with runs of 8th notes and dynamic changes. Arranger's Note: this piece has been simplified for younger bassists (rehearsal areas D&E) where I have altered the original music so it is more playable on a contrabass, and is also altered in m. 50-52 and 85. Mozart wrote such a neat bass that I chose to let it play alone before covering it up. Purists would wish to omit these 4 measures where the lower parts are played alone without the upper part.
