Welcome!
Hello, my screen name is Canadian. I'm an oboist. I love my oboe, oboe music, and oboe recordings. The oboe's pure tone made me fall in love with it. It's also probably why the oboe gets so many solos. The sounds the oboe can produce are truly beautiful. They can be harsh, loud, sweet, dark, mellow. I also love the various key work on oboes. As seen in my display picture, you can see I love taking pictures of oboes too =]. I'm learning to make reeds (as difficult as it is). I can do the basics, but they're tricky! I think every oboist should learn to make they're own reeds at one point in their lives. Half the oboe is the reed. It produces the vibrations and is essential to playing oboe. Could you play trumpet without a mouth piece? Somethings I love: Oboe, music, piano, sad songs, foreign stores and restaurants, interesting topics, dry pasta, nectarines and Korean Music. *New oboe picture* RE: Display Picture. This is a picture I took myself. I then photoshopped in the green walls and added effects. Lots of glow and brighter. I like it. Feel free to message me anytime. The oboe forum is dead and I love talking about oboes, so if you are bored, have any questions, or are interesting in starting to play oboe message me.
