About Me
Hi, I`m Katherine.I am in my school`s Marching Band, Wind Ensemble and Concert Orchestra. I currently play Bassoon, Oboe, Violin, Flute, Piccolo, Clarinet, Tenor Sax, and I play a bit of Piano, Guitar, and Percussion. I have to say that Oboe and Violin are my favorites. I can pretty much pick up any instrument and be able to play in decently enough for performance within a few days.
I take private lessons for Oboe. I`ve been playing Oboe for a year and made first chair in the All City Metro Honor Band. On a normal basis I usually practice Oboe anywhere from 2-4 hours a day, 7 days a week. I also got a superior rating and a medal for my first ever solo contest last year. I`ve been playing Violin for almost 4 years now. I made 7th chair 1st Violin in the All City Metro Honor Orchestra. I usually practice Violin for 1-3 hours a day, 6 days a week. Last year I was 1st chair 2nd Violin in my school`s orchestra. I also made Outstanding Orchestra Student of the Year last school year. I`ve been playing Flute for 5 years, and Piccolo for 2. I don`t practice these much as I usually only play them for Marching/Pep Band. I have only been playing Clarinet for 6 months and I`m honestly no good at it. I don`t usually practice it with all the instruments I play but I think if I practiced more I would be pretty good at it. I`ve played Tenor Sax for about 4 months now in my school`s Jazz Band. I`m no good at Tenor Sax either and I don`t like it much. I only took it up because my teacher needed a 2nd Tenor lol. As for the Piano, Guitar, and Percussion- I pretty much only play those for fun. I`m not very good at them, but they`re fun to play. I just recently started playing Bassoon. It has been an instrument I`ve wanted to learn for quite some time now. It`s a great instrument and well worth the extra practice. I`m currently learning from a friend of mine. In the future I want to learn English Horn and Cello.
