yeah..i just coming back from a family vacation..see, i have sent u a request..so, check your myspace..haha, then u can see all my pics..
My oboe teacher makes his own reeds..so, i always buy them from him..i have read that we gotta make our throat open while playin..it can be done by saying 'ah'..but i found that it is quite difficult to be done..isnt it?

I hope so
Gotcha..haha..we are the same..ive been playing the flute for 4 year (my high school) but i dont have an official tutor (as i said, music lesson here is not common)..i cant even get the tone..i mean, its there but not consistant..but i was good in skills..during that, i was interested to learn bout double reed instruments..so, i pick up oboe..i love both but i seriously wanna be an oboist..
Ha, ive been planning to go to your place to further my study..thank god i have u as my friend so maybe u cant tell me more bout it..i just wanna ask, do u have such account - myspace, friendster? i think it will be easier for us to chat..well, there are lots of thing i wanna ask..hehe

Haha..act my english is quite suck! Hope u dont mind with my messy grammar..haha About the system that u said, we do have somethin like that here...but that is for the private classes..act, im quite sad because music lesson 4 non-private is not that good...esp 4 classical..My teacher is the only full oboist player in malaysia..yes there are few more who play oboe but they are not fully working as an oboist..and my teacher got lesson from a professional oboist (a player in Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra)..im not sure if u know bout this, malaysia is a multi-racial country..there are malay, chinese n indian..what im tryin 2 say is my teacher is chinese..other oboists are also chinese..im the only malay who study n play oboe in malaysia..haha..for now, ive been playin with an orchestra..it just an ordinary orchestra for youth..hei, i actually interested 2 know more bout music in England! Maybe i can further my study there..haha

actually, screw the part about the trombone. make them play the 'dotted crotchet, dotted crotchet, crotchet' rythm. *thumbs up!*

yes it is a big request! but i'm sure you'll do fantasically well. For starters, trombones ALWAYS have swung quavers at the start of every bar, so it's like 'doo-dat (two-three-four)' etc. trumpets generally have variations of the saxaphone part, and play in unision with them, until brass get the melody and then they are in unison with the trombones. your saxaphone parts are BRILLO!and the piano is fantastic. Guitar plays chords, bass often has a walking bass part. (you know, something like [in concert key] 'G B D E F(natural!!) E D B' etc. and bongos always have semiquavers or some other speedy rythms. But yeah, do your best, and I will be ETERNALLY grateful. I'm just curious to how it will sound with a group like that!

hey! we haven't spoken in a while! i was just wondering if i could make request. is it possible for you to write 'good times' with the following parts:
alto sax 1 & 2
tenor sax 1 & 2
baritone sax
trumpet 1, 2 & 3
trombone 1 & 2
drum kit
other percussion line (like bongos or tamborine)
electric guitar
bass
piano
anyway, thats my stage band positions, and i'm just wondering how that song would sound with all that brass! hehe! no but seriously, i would be so grateful if you took the time to write it out.
anyway, hope you're well!

That's cool; I've basically been doing the same thing...
You're welcome, by the way!!
I love the sax's sound. I play the alto and I'm starting the tenor. I like playing lower, so I thought the tenor would be fun (and still able to get the fun jazz parts)...

Nothing much, school, lazing around doing nothing really. Thanks for the comments though. You might have noticed I use the saxophone A LOT in my music, mainly because I love the sound. I love the saxophone's personality, it almost sings out. I especially like the soprano (because it's just so damn high) and the tenor (because it's versatile and can play both low and high).
