There are some great violin techniques in Charlie Daniels Band's version of The Devil Came to Georgia.
First off, this folky pattern which we hear first above D minor, then above C major chords. The melody
moves to accomodate the harmony in each case:
Then comes another four-notes folk pattern, which again follows the harmony, but this time changes ever quarter note.
The chords here are: Dminor, C major, Bb major, A minor, G minor, A major, D minor.
Finally, end with a minor scale (actually the upward part of a D melodic minor, not forgetting to add afterwards that glissando tremolo all the way down!
