I recently bought a recorder from One Thousand Villages. It only has 6 holes and no thumb hole. Perhaps its not a recorder but some other instrument, but it looks like one except for the hole differences.

I have found plenty of information on Recorder (German and Baroque) fingerings, but nothing that seems to help with this six holed instrument that I have. While it was not expensive, so if I can`t play it that`s life. But I would like to be able to. Can anyone help?

have you tried taking it to a local music store? if you could put some type of picture on here (if that`s possible) it could help. hope you figure it out!
