Speed of Air...

Speed of Air...    09:39 on Thursday, September 8, 2005

I`m having a problem in the whole "use the speed of air" to get into the higher octaves and I`m pretty sure I`m doing it wrong so I`ll give as accurate discription as to what is going on with my chops and my air.

As I`m playing my slurring excercises, My lips react well to anything below 4th line D. MY corners loosen and tighten as needed, the tounge rises to the "ee" sound, and I sort of sit on my air and pull my abs in to make the air move faster and my throat remains relaxed and open. When I move into the 4th space E the smoothness changes. I tighten my corners, raise the tounge to say "ee", and I try and try to sit on my air but what winds up happening is I feel like I`m pushing air out from my throat and I feel like I didn`t even take a breath in the first place.

I hope I provided as accurate description of whats going on as possible. and any help would be great
thanks
