i used to play oboe but recently switched to saxophone for marching band.....now for concert season i want to try oboe again but i am having lots of trouble......how can i improve...........should i ever play oboe again.......i like sax so much better.....should i stay on sax???.............i really should keep playing oboe if i have any chance of being in the lsu band.....

my best advise for you is work on scales. you`ll get re-used to playing. don`t give up. I play clarinet in marching band and oboe for concert. I used to have trouble switching, but now I don`t; you get a feel for each instrument eventually.

I have recently started learning oboe...while learning to play cello and continue to play flute in symphonic band/marching band. It is not easy but you can do it! Don`t give up too easily. there are times when I will be playing saxophone for jazz band and I get frazzled as what fingerings are which! So don`t give up, it will come to you in time

it seems as if i dont have enough time to get really good at any instrument since everybody is ahead of me....my past band directors didn`t teach us much........and then wow im already in highskool and i can`t catch up.....
