Well, I was just wondering, what is the `average` age on these forums... people seem to know what they are talking about. I`m 14, and have no clue what *any* notes are. Well...b flat... e flat yeah...F...but you put a page of music, i could play the music, but not tell you what the notes are...make sense? Lol, I was just wondering, my above question and is anyone else like me o.0

Anyway, as I was about to say before I clumsily clicked on the post button, I think what you are talking is concert pitch in relation to the pitch of a Bb trumpet. Concert pitches are pitched in the key of C, and a trumpet most often in Bb. Therefore a concert pitch that Bb, would be a C on trumpet. (I hope this isn't too confusing). The pitch on trumpet relative to concert pitch will always be the note two half steps above the concert pitch. For example, concert Bb is equivilant to C on trumpet, B=C#, C=D, C#=D#(same as Db=Eb), D=E, D#=E#(same as Eb=F), etc.. This method will work for an instrument of any pitch. For example, on an Eb trumpet, the concert pitch of an Eb will equal the trumpet players equivilant of a C. Therefore the trumpet's relative pitch will always be a major sixth above it. I hope that explanation was not too confusing.
