hiyo peoples! Im Kaity, i play the flute right now and it is so incredibly boring. I`m not challenged in band. I went to a sleep-away band camp at McDaniel college and they had a class on learn a new instrument. I switched instruments with another camper. I`ve always been fascinated by the bassoon because of the peter and the wolf thing i heard in like 2nd grade lol. the teacher was like and this instrument is the bassoon. anyway when i wanted 2 start bassoon, u weren`t allowed in Elementary skewl. dont know y. Anyway, i played the flute instead. Back 2 the subject, I choose bassoon and i got to play it. it was so fun and clanky and low. I loved it. There were all these little thumb keys and the whisper key and stuff. Now that camp is over, I want to continue with bassoon. I checked the local music stores for rental bassoons, but none had any available. They said u had to buy them or get them from my school. My school doesn`t have them and they are so expensive. I`m pretty good at teching myself instruments (like the euphonium and clarinet) but the bassoon seems hard. So, i`l prolly spend my extra cash and get a private teacher. But there aren`t any in my area and my band teacher knows crap about them. What should i do? I`m crazy about the bassoon. bye
