First off, copyrighted does not mean you can not give it out it means you can not sell it with your logo on it. I can buy a movie from disney and give it to a friend but not music sheets? Sounds kinda stupid to me. You can freely give out what you want when you want if it isn't stolen.

Actually, copyrighted means that you cannot distribute the product without the appropriate payment to the distributor. In this case, it is whoever publishes the music books. In other cases it might be a distributor of a movie, or the publisher of a novel. You also cannot put your logo on something that is copyrighted by someone else, but that's a different facet of the law. You can of course give a movie to a friend (say as a gift, as long as you have purchased it), but you cannot copy that movie to give to a friend (which is what's happening here). Producing your own copies of music DOES violate copyright law, and simply is not a smart way to go. It sounds to me like you don't have a very clear grasp of what is and is not legal when it comes to sheet music. As for that last part, I didn't say there weren't ways around spam, I just said that it's not particularly intelligent to invite spam when it's so easy to avoid.
