Having a good musical ear is one of the most important things. I have been told that I have a great musical ear! What you should do is buy some classical pieces that you have never really listened to before that have a lot of tone and color to them, and try to hear all of the instruments and when they come in and what they are playing. Another thing you can do is listen to a short piece of music..turn it off..and then try playing it, do this until you can get it perfect.
