I an instrumentalist that is interested in playing the viola i just need some info. What is the tuning on the viola from high to low. What clef does the violin read in alto, tenor, or what. And if anybody knows of any sites that have lessons on the web. thanks.

I`ve played for three years the violin plays treble clef and the viola plays alto. It`s really a fun instrument where are you located?? i`m in houston.

Strings are tuned to A4, D4, G3, C3; one fifth lower than the violin and one octave higher than the `cello.
