i`m thinking about learning how to play the flute and joining the band, but not many guys play woodwinds, especially the flute. is the flute a feminine instrument?

Err, i`m not sure if flute is a woodwind...i play sax its woodwind, and heaps of guys play it. I know a guy who plays flute and he doesnt seem fazed by it at all...if you like it then go for it...my personal opinion is that yeah ok mayb it`s feminine, but dont let it turn you of it

If it helps I have 2 flute students that are male in my beginning band and a few of the best flutest that I know are guys. I`d say go for it if that is what you really want to do.
